WOODLEY DOG TRAINING CLUB (STOCKPORT)

Pet Dog Training for dogs of any age, any breed or crossbreed.

A trained dog is a liberated dog. We teach you to help your dog become a pleasure to own, socially acceptable and a good citizen.

We include all the usual dog training exercises and also incorporate situational exercises to help you and your dog cope with everyday situations. This not only helps your dog but also breaks the ice with other class members, making ours a friendly, sociable club.

PLEASE READ DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.

IF YOU ARE WISHING TO JOIN PLEASE READ THE VENUE PAGE AS IT HAS ALL THE DETAILS.

THERE IS A SHORT WAITING LIST. PLEASE DO NOT TURN UP ON INTAKE NIGHT WITHOUT BEING ADVISED BY US AS WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE YOU.

Instructors

Our instructors, Elaine and Chris, have approximately fifty years experience between them.

However, they keep up to date by attending seminars and other dog related events.
Our head instructor holds an Advanced Certificate for Instructing that was attained at the UKDTIC, an instructors course which has been running for over forty years.

Classes

We do not believe in set courses as all owners and dogs progress at different rates, so there are no expensive course fees to pay. As you and your dog improve you are moved up into the next class

NEXT INTAKE - WAITING LIST - PLEASE EMAIL

All the classes are on Tuesday evenings, the puppy class is first at 7.15pm, followed by beginners, improvers, intermediates and finally advanced.

Class sizes can vary from three dogs to ten dogs. If we have more than ten dogs arrive for a class (very unusual) then we split the class.

Puppies

We have two 'beginner' classes, one for puppies and shy dogs, followed by a separate class for bigger and more outgoing dogs. This is to ensure that puppies and shy dogs are not overwhelmed by more confident dogs. The same exercises are covered in both the puppy and the beginner's class. ALL CLASSES ARE ON TUESDAY EVENINGS.

Social

We have monthly socialisation strolls that all members are invited to. These help the dogs learn polite, social behaviour with the other dogs and also allows the instructors to assist with any problems you may be experiencing whilst walking your dog in public.

We also have trips to the seaside and other outings!
